But, they were made to fight all the way, with the grand final going down to the wire.
In the end, Abra - along with Denise Weathered, Lyn Collard and Chris Page - prevailed over Leanne Medhurst, Monika Hood, Renae Endersby and Lynne Alexander three sets all, 27 games to 23.
"It was a very close match and played in the true spirit of the game," publicity officer Pam King said.
"Some strong committed tennis was played by everyone.
"I wouldn't have liked to pick a 'best and fairest' from this encounter.
"Congratulations to all players and members for once again making the competition successful."
King also praised the club executive, the grading committee and Carol Bowen, Linda Chandler and Doreen Scriven, who on numerous occasions, support them with the "delights" of their cooking skills.
"To Judy Cook, thanks for the effort to ensure all teams had players available, if needed each week, as it can be a time-consuming task," she said.
"Secretary Val Angel did an excellent job to make sure each member received their 'draw' advising them of sides, duty teams, rovers and byes.
"It is members such as these who have ensured that this competition has been so successful for more than 25 years."
The "cherry on the top" was the news Park Tennis would receive a grant of $35,000 from the NSW Government's Community Building Partnership Program.
The money will be well-used in upgrading the playing surface of the courts.
