Many volunteers give up their time for multiple organisations and all 39 volunteers nominated deserve recognition. However the following were judged the 2020 winners:
Young Volunteer - Toni Prior - Youth Connector
Following her participation in a Youth Connectors workshop, Toni's volunteer work has included co-coordinating a local colour run event for young people during Mental Health Month undertaking facilitator training for Youth Connectors and helping to deliver workshops to Year 10 students at Muswellbrook High School. Toni is passionate about giving young people a voice and providing support to improve their well-being.
Adult Volunteer - Sally Jackson - Muswellbrook Girl Guides
Sally has been a leader with Muswellbrook Girl Guides since 1992 and provides a weekly program that gives girls a place to grow, learn life skills, and develop a positive self-image, confidence and self-esteem. Sally leads the Guide in helping the community and is involved in fundraising for hall maintenance and assisting at local, national and international camps.
Senior Volunteer - Lyn and Brian Collard - Muswellbrook Markets and Red Door Kitchen
Lyn and Brian Collard are both tirelessly committed to assisting vulnerable people in the community. In 2017, Brian and Lyn retired from their role of administering the fortnightly Sunday Markets held at the Muswellbrook Showground after 15 years. They both established and are core volunteers on the Red Door Community Kitchen Project where they assist across the whole operation of the project.
Volunteer Team Award - PCYC Muswellbrook
PCYC would not be possible without the tremendous team of volunteers with a passion for changing children's lives and supporting the community. Volunteers, some who offer up to 500 hours a year, assist children and adults in all types of activities. If it takes a village to raise a child; it takes a dedicated group of volunteers to make a difference in the community.
