An investigation is underway following a suspicious fire at a home in Muswellbrook on Sunday, June 21.

About 8.30pm, emergency services were called to Dangar Place, after reports a house was alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze a short time later and the fire was contained to one room, which suffered extensive damage.
The occupant was not home at the time and no injuries were reported.
Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
While the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, it has been deemed as suspicious.

Earlier on Sunday evening fire crews from Edinglassie Rural Fire Brigade and Fire Rescue NSW Station 392 responded to a carfire on Denman road.
Shortly after arriving on scene RP392 were sent back into town to reports of a house fire.
Endinglassie RFB crew finished extinguishing the car before returning to station.
