While the region's showpiece event failed to take place this year, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, organisers still proceeded with the popular pageant.
And, on Friday, June 26, they acknowledged the entrants' commitment and dedication at an informal presentation at the Muswellbrook Showground.
Miss Morrison, who hails from Denman, claimed the title from runner-up Rolanda Clout-Collins (Kars Springs), Yasmin Jimmieson (Muswellbrook) and Kaitlyn Vincent (Scone).
In the Teen Showgirl section, Scone's Katie Sutcliffe - also awarded People's Choice - prevailed from Singleton's Emily May.
All received their sashes and flowers, in front of Upper Hunter Show Society (UHSS) staff and sponsors.
"It's not the way we expected to recognise the girls," president Keith Googe said.
"However, we all have to adapt to the times and current circumstances.
"So, we're fortunate we were able to host this [ceremony] today.
"It's the one thing we could still do on the 2020 program, as many of the elements were already completed before COVID-19 struck.
"Plus, Showgirl is a vital role for the entrants - and their personal development.
"Today is a chance for them to meet our supporters while we finalise everything.
"It also gives them a tiny piece of the experience.
"They are all fantastic ambassadors for the Upper Hunter community.
"Hopefully, the zone comp goes ahead."
For Miss Morrison, 19, her delight was evident to all.
"I'm very surprised," the Mangoola plant mechanic apprentice said.
"I don't usually win these sorts of things.
"But, it's been a great experience - and (events coordinator) Amber Weir's helped out a lot in getting me involved.
"So, I owe her a big thanks.
"It's a bit surreal not attending the actual show.
"I would have loved it; however it's all fine, everyone understands.
"I'm now hoping, in my position as the 2020 Showgirl, to get more of a word out for community involvement and volunteer work.
"I'm really passionate about that.
"I've been a member of the Mangoola Rural Fire Service brigade for three years.
"So, I'm excited by what lays ahead on this journey."
