Muswellbrook's best netballers are preparing for Saturday's 2020 grand finals

THE Muswellbrook Netball Association is preparing for a massive day this Saturday at Karoola Park, as the best teams from each division take to the court for the season deciders.

It has been a testing and interrupted season, but none of that matters now as the players ready themselves for their grade's crucial grand final.

C grade will see MAD MACHS take on the Shooting Stars, B Reserve will feature the VSR Vixens and Happy Tooth, BHS Bullets and Pet Medical Ragdolls will compete for B grade glory, Hunter Fabrication Emeralds and Comprint will play off in A Reserve while the top honour will be contested by Firebirds and the last year's winners Comprint Solutions.

It will be an intriguing battle for the A grade reigning champions, who will be looking to prove that experience and communication is the most important tool in the game.

However, their opponent's strength lies elsewhere, with the Firebirds being a young side that rely on energy and pace.

Comprint Solutions' Sarah Galvin, who plays goal defence and wing defence, knows what they are up against but believes her side in best poised ahead of the match.

"They've got a lot of skill, we played them the other week and they showed a lot of potential so I'm a little bit worried about how we're going to go but I think we'll put out with a good win hopefully," she said.

"[Our strength has been] communication on the court, I think we're aware of what our weaknesses are and strengths are so we play to that and play smarter not harder."

Having won the grand final last year and made it the year before that, the side will certainly go in with slightly less nerves than their opponent, which could work in their favour.

But Firebirds' Abby Howard has other ideas, stating that while her side may be youthful, they have spent plenty of time getting to know each other's games.

"We're really close friends in the team so we work really well together down the court," said the 15-year-old wing attack and wing defence.

"We've been playing netball growing up together in the same teams."

Comprint was undefeated throughout the regular season, getting a hold of the grand final opponents on several occasions, but as any sporting person would know, the big game often throws up surprises.
