Ground was officially broken at the the golf club on November 25 to signal the start in construction of a new Pro Shop and squash courts.
Due to be completed in April 2021, the shop and squash courts is the final phase in a $1.6 million project that has included the addition of a new automated irrigation system, boundary fencing and upgraded Half Way House to the golf course.
The project has been funded by a $1.1m NSW Government grant and $330,000 from Muswellbrook Shire Council. Muswellbrook RSL Club and Muswellbrook RSL Golf Club has contributed the remainder of the funds.
"The Muswellbrook RSL Club has invested around $2m into the golf club and course since taking it over two-and-a-half years ago, and looks forward to a big future with a great tourism asset for Muswellbrook," Muswellbrook RSL Golf Club CEO Daryl Egan said.
Golfing simulators will also be added to the Pro Shop as part of the upgrades.
In 2018, the golf club's restaurant and bar section was refurbished.
