The rally is in support of Beyond Blue and aims to raise funds and mental health awareness over a four-day journey from MuswelIbrook to Forster.

More than 100 participants will begin the charity road trip at Mangoola coal mine, including the operation's Maintenance Superintendent, Troy Greedy, and Maintenance Supervisor, Mark Yarrington.

"Mark and I will be driving a 1982 Mercedes named The Thirsty Mere," Troy said.

"Everyone is welcome to come along to show support and have a look at the wiId and wonderful machines that wilI be taking part, including our car."

The rally is the largest single fundraising event for Beyond Blue. Since the event commenced in 2015, the total funds raised have already exceeded $1,600,000.

Troy and Mark have raised more than $9,000 thanks to support of the Mangoola workforce, suppliers and the local community. They hope to reach their fundraising goal of $10,000 by the end of the rally.

"Beyond Blue is a great organisation that help a lot of people, especially in our industry," Troy said.

"We'll continue to rally the support of our friends, workmates and suppliers for donations throughout the journey."

The pair will travel about 1,300 kilometres through iconic local areas including: Muswellbrook, Aberdeen, Ellerston, Nundle, Tamworth, Manilla, Barraba, Bundarra, Armidale, Wollomombi, Bellbrook, Kempsey, Crescent Head, Port Macquarie, Harrington, Wingham and Forster.
