Hunter New England (HNE) Health has reported six new cases of COVID-19 across Upper Hunter LGAs, including four in Muswellbrook, one in Singleton LGA and one in Upper Hunter Shire LGA.

The case in Singleton LGA was located in Broke and the case in Upper Hunter LGA was located in Green Creek.
A total of 98 new cases were announced across the HNE region, including 28 in Lake Macquarie, 24 in Cessnock, 15 in Newcastle, 13 in Maitland, five in Tamworth Regional LGA, four in Mid-Coast LGA, one in Glen Innes, one in Gunnedah and one case in Port Stephens.
There are now 1,074 active COVID cases across the HNE region, with 28 people in hospital including three people in intensive care.
Meanwhile, NSW Health announced 580 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 across the state and 11 deaths, all from Sydney, this morning.
NSW has likely achieved a 90 per cent first dose vaccination rate amongst the over-16 population, with 89.8 per cent of eligible people across the state receiving their first dose of a COVID vaccine as of 11:59pm on Thursday, October 7.
Approximately 71.5 per cent of eligible in NSW were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 ahead of the first phase of the state government's reopening plan beginning on Monday, October 11.
