Hunter New England (HNE) Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 across LGAs in the Upper Hunter for the fourth day in a row since three cases were reported in Muswellbrook LGA on Monday, October 11.

No new cases were reported in Muswellbrook, Singleton, Dungog or Upper Hunter Shire LGAs.
A total of 79 new cases were announced across the wider HNE region on Friday, October 15 following a record high of 103 cases announced by HNE Health the day before.
The HNE local health district (LHD) reported the second highest total of COVID cases in NSW today, behind the South Western Sydney LHD which reported 92 cases.
Of the cases reported by HNE Health on Friday, 25 are in Newcastle, 11 in Lake Macquarie, 11 in Maitland, 10 in Cessnock, nine in Tamworth, nine in Mid-Coast LGA, three in Port Stephens and one in Gunnedah.
There are currently 1,115 active COVID cases across the Hunter including 25 cases in hospital, five of whom are in intensive care.
Across the state, NSW Health announced 399 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 as well as the deaths of four people including a man in his 50s, two women in their 80s and a man in his 70s all from Greater Sydney.
NSW Health said there have now been 458 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since June 16, 2021.
More than 20,000 vaccines were administered by NSW Health in the 24 hours to 8pm on Thursday, and 91.4 per cent of NSW residents aged over 16 have now received their first dose of a COVID vaccine.
Approximately 77.8 per cent of eligible residents over 16 are now fully vaccinated in NSW.
