The Bureau said renewed flooding is expected on the Hunter River and other rivers across inland NSW from Thursday due to expected heavy rainfall from Wednesday.

"A trough of low pressure will move into the west of the state during Wednesday and bring rain and thunderstorms across the state from Wednesday into the weekend," the Bureau said.

"This rainfall may cause new and renewed flooding across NSW inland rivers and the Hunter River, many of which have been impacted by recent flooding."

The Bureau said the weather system was expected to cause flooding in a number of catchment areas from Thursday into the weekend.

Catchments likely to be affected according to the Bureau include the Goulburn and Upper Hunter Rivers (minor flooding) and Wollombi Brook and the Lower Hunter River (minor to moderate flooding).

The Bureau said the Peel River, which runs through Tamworth, could expect minor to moderate flooding while moderate to major flooding was forecast for the Belubula River in the state's Central West, which runs through the towns of Blayney, Carcoar and Canowindra.

The Upper Hunter communities of Scone, Aberdeen, Merriwa, Murrurundi and Muswellbrook were impacted by minor to moderate flooding after heavy rainfall on Monday, November 22.

The NSW SES also issued evacuation orders in the town of Denman at approximately 2am on the morning of Tuesday, November 23.

Weather conditions were clearer on Tuesday and Wednesday, with areas around Singleton avoiding flood conditions as the Hunter River peaked below 8 metres in the town, beneath the minor flood level of 10 metres.
