On Tuesday, while wild weather ripped through the region, SES volunteers and Muswellbrook Shire Council employees were kept busy, attending at least six call-outs.
Trees went down at three locations – near Lake Liddell, Rosemount Road and Wybong Road – while properties in Muswellbrook and Denman also suffered extensive damage.
“A home in Denman lost two-thirds of its roof, another residence in Anzac Parade, Muswellbrook, almost lost its tin roof and a window was blown in at a Queen Street house,” Mrs Risby said.
“SES crews and council were quick to respond to those incidents.
“We’re experiencing some unseasonal weather at the moment but we’re always prepared.
“I recently heard we’ve received the highest temperatures on record at the moment – two months ahead of schedule.
