In first grade, the Tigers were defeated 30-16 by the Colts in an encouraging first up performance.
Aberdeen was best served by prop Cameron Savage, lock Clinton Blenman, hooker Daniel Hoogerwerf, second-rower Marcus Marsh and five-eighth Brenton Thomas.
After a tight struggle, Greta Branxton took out the reserve grade fixture 28-18.
Best players for the Tigers were second-rowers Eddie Gardner and Trevor Griffiths, halfback Joel Bateman, centre Kyle Smith and hooker Corey Gilmore.
In the inaugural women’s league tag encounter, Aberdeen had a well-deserved victory over Greta Branxton 24-10.
The hosts’ best players were Kylie Saunders (four tries), Melanie Bright, Natalie Heard, Ngaomi Stone, Sandra Morrison and Talissa Robinson.
On Saturday, the Aberdeen Tigers will travel to Murrurundi for women’s league tag at 2pm with the reserve grade game to follow at 3pm.
In first grade, the Tigers are set to clash with the Scone Thoroughbreds at 2pm on Sunday, at Scone Park.
