The Muswellbrook Cats will be forced to consider entering a second team in the under-15s age group for the first time due to the influx of both new and old players.
The league put a cap on registrations this season at 24 players, but the club’s high retainment from previous years has seen 29 athletes already sign up.
The committee has worked hard to grow the club and highlight AFL in the Upper Hunter.
However, the possibility of submitting two teams in the one age group has exceeded their expectations.
The club stressed that it will not even consider turning anyone away who wants to play the game.
A preseason cup is also being organised for March 21, with six teams participating in the warm-up tournament.
The AFL season officially starts on April 11.
