The 108km event is conducted by NSW Cycling and the Tamworth club.
All three local riders are in great form after recording high placings at their latest race meets.
Collins finished in the top 10 at the NSW under-19 road championships, while Hill has had strong results in local racing.
Groeneveld also recently rode Hamilton to Port Fairy in Victoria, a 92km race, finishing just outside the top 10 in under two hours.
After shedding 12 kilograms, Groeneveld said he was hoping for a strong effort at his first Gunnedah to Tamworth ride.
“The [Hamilton to Port Fairy] is one of the only races I’ve done so far this year,” he said.
“I won three out of four races on the track at Dubbo earlier as well so I’m not doing too badly.
“It’s tough with work sometimes; I just really need to go away for a weekend so I can do more racing because there’s so much that I still get out of it.”
He said all riders were eager to see a change in weather conditions for the Gunnedah race.
Meanwhile, local club racing continues at McCullys Gap on Saturdays for those wishing to test themselves.
