A baton relay celebrating 100 years of women in policing made its way through Muswellbrook on Wednesday.

The relay was a state-wide event passing through every local area command in NSW.
The Baton stopped at three locations - Singleton, Muswellbrook and Scone - on its journey through Hunter Valley LAC before making being taken to Hawkesbury Local Area Command.
In Muswellbrook the baton was walked from Muswellbrook Showground to Simpson Park, where a barbecue lunch was held.
Emergency service personnel from NSW Ambulance, NSW Fire and Rescue, Mounted Police, Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, the Crime Prevention Unit and Police Recruitment attended the function.
In Scone, the baton was walked from Surman Street, along Kelly Street and before arriving in Elizabeth Park, where afternoon tea was held with the Mounted Police and Charlie the Penguin.
