The Summer 6s mixed competition will be played at Victoria Park on Tuesday nights, starting in late October.
Each team must have at least two girls on it and supply their own equipment.
Organiser Andrew Spradbrow said he hoped the concept would help attract more players to the Muswellbrook Eagles Football Club next season.
“We’re just trying to garner a bit of interest, particularly with girls, as we haven’t had a female side for a few years,” he said.
“Hopefully this will peak some interest in football around town.
“We’ve had this in the past and it’s really helped us to field more teams in the winter competition, so it’ll be great if it can have an impact again.”
Six-a-side is a small-sided game, with five players on the field and a goalkeeper.
