And, it seems Muswellbrook residents love Nathan Hindmarsh, too.
League fans, young and old, converged on Olympic Park on Wednesday afternoon to meet the four-time Dally M Second-Rower of the Year.
Muswellbrook Rams’ junior president Chris Dengate said the club was thrilled to host the ever-popular Hindmarsh.
“He talked to the young players, took part in a couple of training drills and signed autographs,” he told the Chronicle.
“It was all organised through the Muswellbrook RSL Club, due to another function, so it’s great he met the kids while in town.
“In fact, it’s fantastic to have someone of Nathan’s stature at Muswellbrook.”
Muswellbrook RSL Club CEO Daryl Egan invited Hindmarsh to talk at Thursday’s Upper Hunter Liquor Accord meeting.
“Every year, we conduct a seminar for Year 11 students, focusing on a range of topics,” he said.
“Nathan’s our guest speaker, along with police officers and counsellors.
“He’ll also chat to the pupils about a subject close to his heart, problem gambling.”
