And, residents have the chance to prove that at the second Op Shop Fashion on the Field meeting at Muswellbrook on Saturday, February 13.
The special family-friendly outing, which will benefit Cancer Council NSW, promises something for everyone.
“We’re looking forward to the day,” Hunter community relations coordinator Pausha Prigent said.
“There’ll be plenty of activities for the kids, including a massive water slide between noon and 4pm.
“Music is also on the agenda, featuring an acoustic set by Olivia van den Heuval.
“The Muswellbrook Race Club started the initiative last year.
“Even though the attendance was what they expected, we’re hoping to build on it in 2016 – and get a lot more families there.
“It’s planned as a fun race day; and very affordable so people can support it.”
Ms Prigent said the Op Shop Fashion on the Field would cater for five categories: ladies, gents, fancy dress, teens (13-17 years) and children (0-12 years).
“We’ve got some awesome prizes,” she told the Chronicle.
“All items of clothing (including shoes, hat and accessories) must be bought through a charitable shop.
“And, receipts will be needed for proof of purchase.
“Lifeline, Vinnies and Rummage in Muswellbrook are supporting the event, while there are a couple of stores in Singleton getting behind it, too.
“So, if you need some help, pop in to any one of those outlets.”
The entry fee is $10 (ladies, gents, fancy dress), $5 (teens) and free for children.
