And, that theme continued at the weekend with the 2016 St Heliers Heavy Horse Field Days at Muswellbrook.
A massive crowd made its way to the St Heliers correctional facility grounds on Saturday to not only watch all the action, but soak up the atmosphere of the popular grand parade.
“The committee is delighted with the turnout [today],” president John Sercombe said.
“Especially, since we’re celebrating our 20th anniversary.
“The move to May [from August] seems to have paid off, too.
“We’ve been blessed with some lovely weather, which also helps.
“The great thing about this event is the fact you can bring all the family.
“We’ve got horse events, as well as stalls, and plenty of food and refreshments available.
“Even, Dr Harry Cooper, from Better Homes and Garden, is here.
“He’s doing a segment on the differences between heavy horse breeds, as well as other aspects of the industry.”
The 20th annual St Heliers Heavy Horse Field Days will wrap up on Sunday afternoon, with a special presentation planned for 3pm.
