Barry Mclean said the Denman players had a “fantastic and fun weekend” at the AMP 2016 Intertown Squash Competition.
“We brought home the AMP Inter Town Squash Competition C grade Combined Winners trophy and the AMP Men’s C grade crown,” he said.
“The group consisted of two teams who contested the C grade division against nine other teams.
“The combined wins of Denman’s two teams on the Saturday successfully won Denman Squash Club the Combined Winners Trophy.”
Unfortunately on the Sunday one team was knocked out in the early stages but the second team went on to compete against Forbes in the final.
“This was a hard final with some entertaining squash where Denman won eight games to four. The winning team was made up of Nathan Upward, Noman Jawaad, Aaron Edwards and myself,” Mr Mclean said.
“Denman Squash Club would like to congratulate all the players including Darren Shackelton, Glen Madden and Nicole Phillis for bringing home these big wins.
“We would also like to thank the Phantom for deciding to break his foot and become unavailable to come on this trip and therefore lifting the curse.”
Denman Squash Club will begin its next competition on June 29. Phone Barry on 0427 474 467 for more details.
