The local derby featuring hosts Aberdeen Tigers and the Muswellbrook Rams has been postponed, due to an unsafe playing surface.
Club officials made the tough decision on Saturday.
“We had no choice but to call the games off because of the condition of the ground,” Tigers president Les Horvath said.
“We received 47mm of rain during our matches last weekend – and the surface got badly chopped up.
“There was damage to the field as well as the car park.
“And, the showers during the week haven’t helped either.
“The oval was too wet to put a roller on it.
“We have a duty of care to everyone, hence the judgement to call it off.
“We’ll touch base with the Rams in the near future about an alternative playing date.”
The Tigers’ next home encounter will be played on July 17 against the Greta Branxton Colts.
