Hunter Drama, the company that produced the 2014 box office hit production of Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr, secured the rights to produce Shrek The Musical Jr.
Under the direction of Daniel Stoddart, Hunter Drama will bring the Shrek musical to Newcastle Civic Theatre’s stage for six shows across three days (September 29 to October 1).
Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, the musical features all the well-loved characters from the film released in 2001 – Shrek, Donkey, Princess Fiona, Lord Farquaad and Dragon.
“It will be great to work with so many other talented young people from all over,” Molly said.
Hunter Drama was established in 2007 and has fast become the region’s favourite company for producing fresh dramatic arts opportunities for young people and professional large-scale musical events.
