And, the 11-year-old’s suggestion has put her school community in the race to win a $20,000 makeover.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) member saw a competition on morning television show Sunrise, in celebration of the release of Dreamworks’ film TROLLS.
To enter, they had to film and submit a short video of the school dancing to Can’t Stop the Feeling, by Justin Timberlake.
The school community threw their support behind the idea, and, along with the rest of the SRC, and teachers Karen Payne, Louise Martin, and Cindy Hugo, created their colourful entry.
Ms Hugo said the school’s recent production of Alice in Wonderland was fantastic, but the hall was very hot due to no air-conditioning.
“[Bayley] thought it might be a nice thing for our school to do to raise some money for air conditioning for our hall,” Ms Hugo said.
“It’s used all the time – every day.
“Staff dressed up and were featured in the the video as well.
“It was a team effort, as it always is at this school.”
Ms Hugo said the student-initiated exercise had been a great example of how an SRC member could bring an idea to the staff and have their ideas come to fruition.
“This was not a staff idea – this was something the students came up with,” she said.
Following the competition brief of sharing their ‘happy place’, the school met the challenge, by showing part of the 2016 production.
Bayley said it would be fantastic if the school won.
“No matter how crazy the idea, it’s always worth a try,” she said.
