The event finally went ahead after being postponed from the previous Saturday and Sunday due to the heat.
Unfortunately, the change of dates affected Aberdeen’s representation, according to Denis Bell.
“The problem with the postponement was that it clashed with the NSW Touch Junior State Cup at Port Macquarie,” she said.
“Regretfully, one of our athletes, Kate Lloyd, had the hard decision of deciding where she was going to compete.
“She opted for the touch championships.
“Apparently, there was quite a storm on Saturday afternoon, before the running of the 3000m events.
“This caused those races to be rescheduled after the relays on Sunday, basically becoming the last event over the weekend.”
Geerin, contesting the boys’ under-9s, placed 12th in the 200m sprint, registering 35.76.
Under-10 athlete Poa finished fourth in the long jump, with a 3.71m leap, and seventh in high jump (1m).
Partridge, in the girls’ under-13s, captured 11th in the 1500m (8:48.82), 12th in the javelin (11.74m) and eighth in the 3000m (19:10.75).
“Malaki’s effort was fantastic, beating her personal best by more than 20cm,” Bell said.
“But, we’re delighted with the performances of all of them.”
