Each year, Muswellbrook Shire Council celebrates Australia Day by honouring the people who make a difference in the community.
Australia Day Awards are presented to individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to Muswellbrook Shire in the field of community service, sport, agriculture, social inclusion, arts and culture, environment and education.
The award categories are Citizen of the Year; Youth Citizen of the Year; Cultural Contributor, Youth Cultural Contributor; Social Award; Education Award; Environment Award; Northoak Award (Agriculture); Services to Sport; Sportsperson of the Year; and Junior Sportsperson of the Year.
All residents are encouraged to nominate a person or organisation that has made a significant contribution to the growth and well-being of the Muswellbrook Shire community.
Nomination forms can be found on the Muswellbrook Shire Council website or collected from the Muswellbrook Administration Centre and the Muswellbrook and Denman libraries.
Nominations close at midnight on December 3, 2017.
