Chairperson for the 2014 Muswellbrook Relay for Life committee Jemma Anshaw said there has been a string of positive feedback after the weekends event.
“We decided to try some new things, and update some old favourites, and it payed off,” she said.
“I think we hit on some winners with a few new events, like the obstacle course and Midnight Madness five kilometre run.
“The committee really went above and beyond to make this years relay everything it could be and more.
“I have spoken to a number of people who took part for the first time on the weekend and they are already looking forward to next year.”
There were over 450 people from the area who took part in the Cancer Council fundraising event, which was held at Weeraman Fields on Saturday night.
Together they have raised an estimated $70,000.
“It is fantastic to see everyone getting behind such a great cause,” Ms Anshaw said.
“This money will be able to help local people through a number of Cancer Council programs.
“I would like to thank the hard working committee, and the community for making Muswellbrook Relay for Life 2014 such a success.”
