A man walking his dog discovered the wounded Eastern Grey kangaroo around 11am last Thursday.
Police were called to locate and assess the wounded kangaroo, but it hopped away and has not been spotted since.
Wildlife aid animal carer, Andrew Lee, said the organisation needed extra funding to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
“Like all volunteer organisations, we’re desperately short of funds which we need for tranquiliser guns to sedate the animal and bring them in,” he told The Chronicle.
“Any donations from members of the public will be greatly appreciated.”
Mr Lee said a search party had walked all over the Common but had been unable to find the kangaroo.
“We are assuming it may have either gone to ground to die or the arrow has fallen out,” he said.
