In August 1985, Trish Hobbs began working at Muswellbrook's commercial radio station and, 30 years on, is continuing to brighten up her office.
When she started at the station it was owned by Radio 2NX Newcastle.
“Those were the days when at 6pm at night we would relay from NX,” Ms Hobbs said.
In 1989 it was taken over by Grant Broadcaster- the current owners of the station.
However, it isn’t just ownership that has changed.
“When I first started we had a tea lady, Dot Elks,” Ms Hobbs said.
“She would come around with her little tray and serve us morning tea.
“We were very fortunate; she was a great sponge cake maker so we would get a sponge cake for our birthday.”
Ms Hobbs’ began at the station as a receptionist, and has since become a commercial scheduler.
“I was just fortunate I was looking for a job and this just came along,” she said.
The Aberdeen local said she has seen a lot of people come and go through the station.
“Radio Hunter Valley has been a feeding station for announcers to go onto bigger metropolitan stations,” she said.
“I’ve worked with some very lovely people over the years.
“We have a lot of fun at work.”
Like in every workplace, Ms Hobbs said the way the station operates has been altered by technology.
“When I first started there weren’t any computers,” she said.
“Technology has changed dramatically and things are done so differently now.”
Ms Hobbs said she has enjoyed working at the station, and plans to continue doing so until she retires.
She said it has been rewarding working with her colleagues and making friendship during her time at the office.
