A strong Valley outfit upset Denman in the second grade fixture at Denman No 1, prevailing by 42 runs.
Valley amassed 137, thanks to Paul Cavanough (42) and Nathan Bagnall (30).
For Denman, Shaun Wilkins picked up 4-20 and Tyson Bruns 2-17.
In reply, the hosts were bundled out for 95.
Skipper John Apps top scored with 42 while Nathan McDonald chipped in with 23.
The two Muswellbrook sides, RSL and Souths, had better luck in their respective matches.
RSL crushed Creeks to the tune of eight wickets at Victoria Park.
Adam Payne ripped through the Creeks’ line-up to dismiss them for 50, finishing with 6-22, and Al de Nysschen claimed 4-20.
Beau Harris and Dominic White, who both remained 22 not out, guided the home team to 2-52 – and victory.
Souths also had a relatively easy time at Cook Park 4, Singleton, against Glendon.
Ravi Brar (3-5) and Gary Symington (2-3) restricted Glendon to 46.
Then, despite losing a couple of wickets, Malachi Dieckman (29 not out) and Ash Sully (8 not out) reached 2-47.
In third grade, Denman captured a win, at the expense of Valley, in a high-scoring encounter at Cook Park 5.
Denman posted 3-153 on the back of Matt Danks’ unbeaten 46, Shaun Burgess (41) and Brady Bowd (24).
The side kept Valley to 9-147, with Anthony Worth (4-23) and Alex Loredo (2-12) the stand outs with the ball.
At Highbrook Park, Creeks got the better of RSL.
Creeks amassed 9-174, as Jack Clare took 4-12 and Boston Gageler 2-36.
Unfortunately, the Muswellbrook outfit faltered for 74, with Campbell Schmierer and Josh Cooper securing 27 not out and 12 respectively.
