There is also a radio broadcast from the Upper Hunter Tertiary Education Centre and free barbecue, as well as the coffee van available morning and afternoon.
Hunter TAFE institute director Christine Warrington said the Open Day was a great way to explore TAFE’s study and training options.
“This new facility has further expanded Hunter TAFE’s capacity to deliver programs and training in the area,” she said.
“The Open Day is a wonderful chance to talk to TAFE staff about courses and careers, go for a tour and discover everything the Tertiary Education Centre has to offer.”
Sam Adams College resident manager Phillipa Sutton agreed.
“The Open Day is going to be a fantastic opportunity to show prospective students and our community how good the facilities are and provide a sense of the complete student experience living on campus,” she said.
Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music director Jeremy Fletcher said the new centre, at Campbell’s Corner, was the first purpose-built performing arts facility in the region.
“The conservatorium provides the ideal environment for learning music,” he said.
“We have teaching studios for our staff to provide lessons and tutorials and we also have dedicated performance spaces.
“We hope all residents of the Upper Hunter can come to the new conservatorium to listen to a performance.
“We invite everyone to inspect the building on Saturday and see what was once a department store now turned into an educational facility.”
