Youngster Beau Harris tied for the Chris Arnold Medal as the Best and Fairest player in the second division competition.
The 17-year-old shared the honours with Daniel Osarek from Newcastle City.
Harris led by two votes entering the final round.
But, a forfeit from Killarney Vale in the last hit-out, cost him dearly.
Osarek polled two votes to draw level with Harris, with both players locked on 17 points.
Cats’ captain and key forward Adam Higham was also presented with the second division leading goalkicker award.
In further good news for Muswellbrook, husband and wife pair Ken and Annette Garland collected the prestigious James J Arnold Volunteer of the Year Award for the untiring work they do for the club.
The Cats will now turn their attention to the 2016 decider, which will be played on Saturday, September 3.
Muswellbrook plays the winner of the preliminary final between The Entrance Bateau Bay (TEBB) and surprise packets Warners Bay.
In excess of 280 guests attended Elliott Davey Medal Presentation Night, which saw Nelson Bay midfielder Jayden Rymer take home the coveted Elliott Davey Medal.
The 18-year-old captured the crown by one vote from Terrigal Avoca’s James Webster who was aiming to win his fourth consecutive medal.
