On Thursday, residents sat down with officers from Hunter Valley Local Area Command, over a cup of coffee.
People had the opportunity to ask about the work police do in the area, or raise any concerns they had, as well as getting to know the officers.
Often the community interacts with police in times of emergency, so the nationwide Coffee With a Cop initiative worked to build relationship between residents and the local command.
The event at Fibonacci Coffee Shop was open to all community members.
The purpose of the program is to advance community policing by improving the relationship between officers and residents.
Hunter Valley Local Area Command is expecting to host more Coffee With a Cop events in the future.
