Residents and staff were joined by community members and leaders to celebrate the achievement.
During his address, manager Bradley Roberts thanked those who played a part in the site’s development, including the residents.
“The site has been purposefully designed and built to meet the needs of our elderly, now and well into the future,” he said to those present.
“At the end of the day, it’s the people that fill the inside of this building that make it a unique home to be in.
“I lead a fantastic team who provide first class care.
“The home is filled with laughter, joy, and compassion.”
Mr Roberts also acknowledge the efforts of Calvary Hunter’s general manager Bronwyn Wilkinson in the process.
The $27 million purpose-built centre features a 65-bed residential aged care facility and 22 independent living units.
In March, 36 residents transferred from Calvary Mt Providence to the Cassidy Avenue location, along with Muswellbrook District Hospital aged care residents.
