There, you will be treated to a Hunter Valley Zoo display (from 10.30am to 12.30pm), jumping castle, UHCS Toybox traveling play service, free attractions, Bunnings children’s game centre, lolly bucket, kid’s rides, face painting, laughing clowns, buskers, vintage cars and bikes, karate demonstrations, NPWS displays, raffles, coffee and cake, barbecue, a variety of food stalls and much more.
The very talented Justess Jones is also scheduled to entertain patrons at the Recreation Grounds on Saturday, September 16, between 8am and 2pm.
“This year will mark the seventh edition of the Jerrys Plains Community Fair and Car Boot Sale,” said Rhonda Walter, one of the coordinators along with Kay Atfield, Trish Barry and Maureen Pratt.
“And, it’s organised by the Jerrys Plains & Districts Progress Association Inc.
“The objective of the group is to improve the quality of life of the Jerrys Plains and Districts residents by protecting their public health, economic wellbeing, natural environment and historic heritage and to ensure its preservation for future generations.
“Our values are cooperation, social justice, environmental responsibility and historical heritage.
“We are a not-for-profit organisation and the association participates in the maintenance of our local historical cemetery, maintains the local information board and much more.
“The fair is held each year to bring the community together for a fun day and we have lots of activities and entertainment for children as well.
“Without the assistance of our major sponsor Coolmore Stud, we would not be able to proceed with the fair.
“Unfortunately, it does not run at a profit.
“The main reason we host the fair is to get the locals out and about.
“And, it lets new people in town see what we, as a community, can offer and of, course, see how lovely we are.
“So, visit the many CWA and P&C stalls featuring candles, soaps, fresh produce, jams and pickles, arts and crafts.”
Stall spaces are still available, so phone Maureen on 0413 318 666 (after 6pm) or Rhonda on 0402 026 143.
