Muswellbrook Cats are calling for expressions of interest in a range of different areas.
The club is looking for senior coaches, junior coaches, men’s and women’s league, and the boys and girls divisions for the 2018 season.
President Ken Garland said the club advertised every year to have coaching positions filled.
“Obviously the current coaches, if they look to do it again, they’ll obviously get a bit more of a look in than any of the newcomers,” he said.
“But, hopefully, we can get some new people involved in the club.”
Garland said, from a coaching point of view, leaders would be required to train a side on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and run the team around on Saturday.
It would also be appreciated if the coaches could get the team more involved in the organisation of the club and its day to day activities.
Garland enjoyed his first year of coaching in 2017, when he took on the leadership of the women’s side – a team which was a first for the Muswellbrook club.
“While we didn’t win a game, the rewarding part of it was just seeing the improvement out of the players,” he said.
“And, obviously from a coaching point of view, you want to improve everyone as an individual and as a team.
“So to see that is probably the most rewarding thing.
“The girls had a great year.
“We went a long way to improving their skills from the start to the finish, and earned a lot of respect from the league itself.”
Those interested in becoming involved are asked to send their expression of interest to: Muswellbrook Cats AFC, P.O Box 498, Muswellbrook, NSW, 2333; by close of business, Friday, October 13.
“The new committee after the AGM will take all the expressions of interest on board and go from there,” Garland said.
