WHERE better to soak up the Melbourne Cup atmosphere than a racecourse?
While plenty of clubs and pubs did a roaring trade in the Upper Hunter on Tuesday, the Muswellbrook Race Club was definitely the place to be.
A huge crowd of locals and visitors descended upon Skellatar Park for a strong seven-card program at home, with the “race that stops a nation” also featured on a big screen.
The meeting backed up the successful Shorty Cribb Aberdeen Cup, which took place on Sunday.
Even greater numbers are expected to attend the MRS Services Muswellbrook Gold Cup on Friday, December 8.
