The program exists to ensure all junior cricket clubs in the region have access to the latest safety equipment and continue to encourage the youth of NSW and budding sports players to safely lead an active lifestyle.
This season, 1500 cricket helmets have been distributed to clubs across the state, built with a special StemGuard clip-on attachment that provides additional protection for a batman’s vulnerable neck.
Denman Junior Cricket Club and Muswellbrook Junior Cricket Club have received six Masuri cricket helmets.
“Ensuring the safety of our local teams is of the utmost importance,” Muswellbrook McDonald’s licensee Phil Wilson said.
“We are proud to be providing the clubs with more helmets, encouraging more young Aussies to lead an active lifestyle through sport.
“We are looking forward to another safe and successful cricket season this year.”
Cricket NSW CEO Andrew Jones also chimed in.
“Cricket is a sport for everyone and together with McDonald’s, we are committed to making the game enjoyable and safe for every team taking to the field this season,” he said.
“With new helmet standards being introduced nationwide in 2018, this initiative is a collaborative effort to ensure that junior clubs play with the latest and safest in helmet technology.”
