MRS Services Group (MRS) recently welcomed eight new apprentices – Jesse Baker, James Howard, Lachlan Barry, Clinton Mackie, Matthew Eustace, Maddison Williams, Kobey Adam-Smith and Isabella Sheehan – to the fold.
And, the company is hoping to add to that figure in the near future, with a number of additional vacancies available.
“We believe in investing in our community by creating career pathway opportunities,” MRS chief operating officer Jonathon McTaggart said.
“A key part of this strategy is providing apprenticeships and traineeships.
“Our current trade apprenticeships cover plant mechanics, auto electrician, boilermaker 1st class welder, light vehicle mechanic, heavy vehicle mechanic and fitter machinist.
“Our traineeships include Cert 3 Business Administration and Cert 4 Business Accounting.
“So, we’re proud to have eight new employees in our company, who are heading down this path.
“That’s a bigger number than last year.”
MRS is a local diversified maintenance services company employing approximately 300 people, mainly serving Hunter Valley mine and civil projects.
“We’re delighted to be able to offer a large number of opportunities to our community through these apprenticeships and traineeships,” Mr McTaggart said.
“Each year, we will strive to present roles to motivated people who are keen to learn a specific trade or skills – and start a career in the maintenance support industry.
“I’d encourage locals to review and apply for some positions currently on offer, such as plant mechanics/mechanical fitters, boilermakers, multi-skilled operators, fuel cart driver and an accountant.”
