THE Aberdeen Tigers added the 2018 Scanlon Shield to its trophy cabinet after knocking over the Muswellbrook Rams 40-12 at Olympic Park on Saturday night.

The 2017 Hunter Valley Group 21 grand final combatants went into the round three fixture undefeated.
But, it was the Tigers who maintained their recent dominance over the Rams.
The match looked set to be a thriller when Aberdeen enjoyed a minor 14-6 advantage at the break.
However, the players lifted a gear in the second 40 minutes to surge ahead 34-12.
A late converted try put the icing on the 28-point romp.
The Scone Thoroughbreds also continued its unbeaten streak in 2018.
The side overpowered the Greta Branxton Colts 42-12 to join the Tigers on top of the ladder.
Meanwhile, the Denman Devils scored its first victory of the season, thanks to a 30-28 nail-biter at the expense of the Singleton Greyhounds.
Aberdeen and Scone sit atop the table, with six points apiece, with Muswellbrook in third place on four.
Denman moves into fourth spot, while Singleton and Greta Branxton are yet to register a win.
In reserve grade, Murrurundi accounted for Merriwa 30-12, the Tigers beat the Rams 32-20, the Greyhounds defeated the Devils 24-16, and the Thoroughbreds trounced the Colts 46-0.
Defending under-18 champions Muswellbrook made short work of Aberdeen 62-12, Singleton crushed Denman 34-6 and Scone racked up win number three, courtesy of a 38-6 triumph over Greta Branxton.
There weren’t too many surprises in women’s league tag either.
The Ramettes proved too strong for the Tigers 24-0, the Magpies swooped on the Mavettes 16-4, the Greyhounds prevailed over the Devils 26-0 and the Thoroughbreds saw off the Colts 22-10.
