If the answer is “no”, then it’s not too late, with the new-look event moving to the Muswellbrook Showground on Saturday, May 26.
This year’s extravaganza, from 10am until 10pm, will feature the traditional opening and closing ceremonies; palliative care, survivors and candlelight services; and fireworks but also a couple of surprises.
“Everything’s locked in,” chairman Taya Elphinstone said.
“We have a different range of food vendors and market stalls this year, although we’re still keen to speak to people if they want to set one up for $20 a site.
“As for entertainment, we’ve got Kyda Rock, Vegas Groove, Samantha Bell, Zumba, the Muswellbrook High School Band and much more.
“There’s also a Kids Arena, from 11am until 2pm, which features laser tag, jumping castles and an inflatable obstacle course.
“The children can stay [there] for as long as they like, for just $5.
“We want the occasion to be really family-orientated.
“And, people are free to stay five minutes or five hours – it’s one of the reasons we decided to make it a day event at the showground.
“We’ll draw the Grocery Grab competition on the day, too.
“We have been, and are still, selling tickets for that where the winner will enjoy three minutes of shopping at Coles Muswellbrook.
“The fireworks, and closing ceremony, should wrap things up after 9pm.”
Miss Elphinstone admitted there was renewed interest in the Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter Relay for Life, after a year’s absence.
“Bengalla is now on board as a major sponsor, while we’ve also received plenty of support from the community,” she said.
“Plus, we wanted to include Aberdeen and Scone, as well as local schools in the region, because they don’t host their own event.
“Having it at the Muswellbrook Showground has attracted attention, too.
“It’s more central; it’s more accessible and boasts more space.
“We’re just hoping the weather’s okay on May 26.
“All the necessary information is on our Facebook page; and we’ll be providing regular updates there.”
