Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are achieving in all areas of society including education, art, industry, community, sport and youth.
The Wanaruah NAIDOC Committee, in conjunction with the Wanaruah Local Aboriginal Land Council, invites you to nominate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander individuals for a NAIDOC Week Award in 2018.
Organisations (indigenous and non-indigenous) may be nominated in the community contributions category.
If you know someone in your community who deserves to be recognised for their achievements, complete a nomination from for the Upper Hunter NAIDOC Week Awards 2018.
Nominations close on Friday, June 1.

Categories include: Apprentice of the Year, Artist of the Year, Community Contribution Award, Elder of the Year (both male and female), Professional Achievement, Scholar of the Year Junior (both male and female), Scholar of the Year Senior (both male and female), Sportsperson of the Year Junior and Senior, Volunteer of the Year, Youth of the Year (ages 16-21 years old) and Posthumous award.
The Wanaruah NAIDOC Committee will host the awards ceremony, from 6.30pm on July 13, at the Muswellbrook RSL Club.
The cost of the tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door, which includes a three-course meal.
Tickets can be purchased at the Wanaruah Local Aboriginal Land Council, 19 Maitland Road, Muswellbrook.
