The members recently took part in the organisation’s own Winter Appeal – with outstanding results.
“We asked the ladies to hand over warm clothes, which are donated to a local charity, over the past two to three months,” secretary Angela O’Brien said.
“They are then given to the needy within the community; not sold in their outlets to raise money.
“Each year, in July, we collate all the clothing and present it to either the St Vincent de Paul Centre or the St Albans Ministries in Muswellbrook.
“Our 2018 drive just finished.
“So, we’re delighted to announce we’ve raised almost $900.
“And, that St Albans Ministries is the beneficiary, with the St Vincent de Paul Centre to receive the clothing next year.
“We’d like to thank everyone for their support.”
Meanwhile, the Muswellbrook Day VIEW Club is hoping to boost its membership stocks.
“At the moment, we have 23 members in our midst,” Mrs O’Brien said.
“But, we’re always looking to welcome newcomers.
“We meet on the second Thursday of the month at the Muswellbrook and District Workers Club (in the Ron Adams Room).
“We’re extremely grateful to them for the donation of that room at no cost to our club.
“The Muswellbrook Day VIEW Club is also sponsoring two Learning for Life students and, once again, the Workies have helped provide the funds needed to contribute to these children’s education.”
