The Cats will now play Newcastle City at No 1 Sportsground this weekend for the right to contest their second grand final in three years.
Muswellbrook’s Adam Higham kicked a goal inside the first minute of the game and, from then on, they were never headed and thrilled the big contingent of local supporters.
Nigel Smith, who unpassable at centre half back, was easily the Cats’ best.
He was well-supported by Matthew Dunn, Lachlan Watts and Kyle Bray.
Jacob Connor, Jessy Bedford and Bray each kicked two goals.
