While work to repair the problem has progressed, locals are now being directed to Wilkinson Avenue for assistance.
“Residents can fill a container or collect free bottled water at the Sustainability Hub (opposite the Muswellbrook Croquet Club),” a council spokesperson said.
“Our Sustainabliity Team will be there until 6.30pm on Wednesday.
“Bring your own container and have it filled.
“Free bottled water is also available.”
The Chronicle understands full water service will be restored to homes in south and east Muswellbrook about 7.30pm.
The Muswellbrook Aquatic Centre is open for showering and amenities, too.
