After departing from McDonald’s Hexham on Saturday morning, the brightly-coloured cavalcade made its way to The Denman Hotel – just in time for lunch and an afternoon of fun and frivolity.
There, an auction, major raffle and trophies for best dressed bike, best dressed female and male rider, to name a few categories, entertained the masses.
Co-hosts Lyndall and Brett Hejduk, from The Denman Hotel, were thrilled with the success of the event.
“The wet weather in Hexham prevented a few participants from taking part but, on the whole, we had a great turnout of riders and locals supporting the day,” they said.
“We raised just shy of $10,000.
“The highlights of the day included the auction, ‘live’ music and the sighting of a dog in a tutu being pushed around in a pram.
“That was definitely the topic of conversation out on the deck.
“The organisers of the event were delighted with the outcome and amount raised, too.
“Newcastle Pink Ribbon Ride president Michael Yule was very happy.
“We have already started making plans for the 2019 event.”
