The BPP, which was launched in Sydney last week by NSW Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello, is a joint venture between Blackrock Industries and Protech Group Australia.
And, with 17 offices nationally, it will become one of the largest indigenous-owned labour hire and workforce solutions providers in Australia.
“I started Blackrock Industries, which is located in Thiess Crescent, three years ago with $20,000, an old tipper truck and a dream to run my own business,” said founder and director Mr Fordham.
“Today, we are launching one of Australia’s largest indigenous-owned labour hire businesses.
“I want all other indigenous Australians out there to know that if you work hard and believe in what you are doing then there are no limits to what you can achieve.”
Protech managing director Marc Meili admitted he chose to partner with Blackrock Industries because it aligned with his company’s values.
“Our purpose is to ‘be a positive influence in people’s lives’,” he said.
“In 14 months, our Indigenous Employment Program has provided employment opportunities to more than 80 indigenous men and women.
“I can’t think of too many better ways to be a positive influence in people’s lives.
“And, that is to give someone with a barrier to entry into the workforce an opportunity for meaningful employment and the ability to take charge of their life.
“The Blackrock Protech Partnership is focused on more than just short-term job prospects.
“We employ our own mentors to support our employees for the first six months of their employment.
“It makes the Blackrock Protech Partnership one of the only businesses who fully support and manage the employment lifecycle from recruitment and training through to employment and mentoring.”
Mr Fordham added the affiliation was all about delivering long-term career opportunities.
“That’s why we are selective in who we partner with,” he explained.
“We started with so little and to now be in the position we are today to launch the Blackrock Protech Partnership is a story we want to share with all our indigenous employees.
“We want them to know that the when they work for us, the only limitations they have are the ones they place upon themselves.”
