The project includes new amenities, a shade structure over the toddler play area and replacement of sand with rubberised soft fall.
Upgrades to spectator seating at the sports ground feature improved safety on the terrace section and facilities for sporting teams and improved accessibility and new fencing.
These works are an integral part of Muswellbrook Shire Council’s program of continual improvement to the area’s sport and recreational facilities – and will take place over the next three months.
Both the amenities and toddler shade has been funded under council’s General Recreation Capital Program while the rubberised soft fall and improvements to the sports ground has been subsidised under round two of the NSW government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
The majority of the works will be completed by January 2019 with the soft fall to be completed shortly afterwards.
Temporary amenities have been provided at the Highbrook playground for use during this period.
