More than 20 children took to the court on a weekly basis, with that figure expected to increase in 2019 when the initiative returns to the town’s Indoor Sports Stadium.
“Running from term-to-term, through the hot and cold weather, never seemed to take the smile off the kids’ faces,” one of the coordinators Emily Huggins said.
“With our numbers rising, and children learning more important things in basketball, there’s plenty of fun to be had.
“It will be back next year – on every Tuesday each week during the [school] term.
“The program only lasts for an hour, from 4.45pm, but any youngster is welcome to come along and join in.”

Huggins Trophies claimed the women’s title after knocking over the Panthers 68-36, with Huggins named MVP (most valuable player).
In division one, Destination Anywhere – led by MVP Timothy Huggins – proved too strong for Scone Spares 57-47.
And, in the “seconds”, the Mixtures pipped the Jayhawks 37-35, with Ben Copland and Jacob Hemingway sharing the MVP honours.
