The preparation has included workshops run by St Joseph’s High School Aberdeen Year 12 pupils, who have enjoyed the opportunity to be involved and help those people with a disability develop new found skills and confidence.
Sixteen-year-old Chloe Frost is one of the student leaders for the event and revealed to the Chronicle why they love being part of it so much.
“Seeing the look on the All Stars faces, you just get a lot of enjoyment out of it because they look forward to it every year and they really enjoy the experience,” she said.
That sentiment was backed up by integratedliving Overton House team leader Chic Taylor, who spoke about just how much the participants relish the event.
“They talk about it, Christmas doesn’t tend to get the countdown but [with them] it’s usually how many sleeps until All Stars and they all seem pretty keen on it every year,” she said.
Praise was heaped on the students who put aside their free time to come help for the week and Ms Taylor explained their efforts were hugely appreciated.
“The kids have organised it for the past three months and it takes a lot of pressure off of me as well and our guys just love it, to have that bit of fun through the week,” she said.
It all builds up to the concert, which will take place at 11am on Saturday, January 19, at St Joseph’s and only requires a gold coin donation for entry.
All are encouraged to come along for the family-friendly entertainment and for the opportunity to witness everybody’s hard work coming together at once.
