Many show-goers will likely have this song, probably with its correct lyrics admittedly, stuck in their head after seeing the Muswellbrook Amateur Theatre Society’s (MATS) production of The Little Mermaid.
Having completed a lengthy casting phase, they have decided upon their final line-up and are beginning rehearsals ahead of the first performance, which will be on July 26.
There are 45 cast members ranging from 10 years of age to retirees, and a team of 40 production staff who will be working to perfect to show over the coming months.
A band of 15 people from the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music will also be involved in what is MATS' 99th production across their 59 years.
It will run for nine shows over three weekends and certainly give musical lovers in the region something to get excited about.
Producer Virginia Greentree said they’re thrilled to have the opportunity to do a Disney show – and is confident the cast will blow it out of the water.
They hosted a launch at Muswellbrook High School (MHS) at the weekend, and announced the lucky individuals who passed auditions, as well as presenting their sponsors.
Holly McDonald (Ariel), Brady Cavanagh (Eric), Sue Davis (Scuttle), Lachlan Lockhart (Sebastian) and Dutchy Holland (King Triton) have landed the main roles and will be applying themselves thoroughly throughout rehearsals.
Mrs Greentree thanked AGL, MACH Energy, Bengalla and BHP who have all jumped on board to fund the project.
She gave appreciation to MHS who is allowing MATS to use the facilities.
